Saisie de drogue à Kolia : un ressortissant malien arrêté avec du chanvre indien et du Tramadol
Another successful operation by the defense and security forces. They have just arrested a Malian man in the border area of Kédougou. On Monday, October 27, 2025, around 12:20 PM, members of the Moussala border sector, on duty at the Kolia outpost, apprehended an individual in possession of narcotics during a routine patrol on the Kolia-Gamba Gamba road.
According to information gathered, the suspect, Daouda Berté, 38 years old, originally from Ségou (Mali) and residing in Kharakhéna, was arrested while traveling to Kolia on a motorcycle. A search of him revealed a bag containing approximately 200 grams of marijuana and 36 Tramadol tablets, each containing ten RAKOL brand tablets.
During his interrogation, Daouda Berté admitted to the facts and stated that he had obtained the drugs from a Malian supplier named Yégo, residing in Mahinamine (Mali), for 130,000 FCFA. He specified that he intended to resell these products in traditional gold mining sites, commonly known as Dioura, where drug use is often employed to combat fatigue.
Having been informed of his rights, including the right to legal counsel, the accused was brought before the public prosecutor at the Saraya court, who ordered the opening of criminal proceedings. Following the investigation conducted by agents of the Moussala border sector, Daouda Berté was brought before the Saraya prosecutor's office on Tuesday in strict accordance with legal provisions.
This arrest illustrates once again the vigilance of the security forces deployed along the Senegal-Mali border, where drug trafficking remains a persistent threat to security and public health.
