Thiès : Jugé pour avoir violenté sa mère, il évoque des troubles mentaux
P. Ly, in his forties, appeared before the Thiès court on charges of domestic violence. He is accused of hurling insults at his mother. According to her, her son regularly drinks alcohol and, once drunk, causes chaos in the family home and hurls insults at her.
In court, the defendant did not contest the facts. He explained that he suffered from mental health problems before expressing regret for his actions and offering his apologies.
As a reminder, P. Ly had already been sentenced to four months in prison for similar offenses.
The public prosecutor requested the application of the law. The verdict will be delivered on March 23, 2026.
