Thiès : Un mécanicien condamné pour avoir agressé une femme
C. Diongue, a mechanic by profession, is being prosecuted for intentional assault and battery causing a total incapacity for work (ITT) of seven days, to the detriment of Mrs. M. Kandji.
According to the facts presented at the hearing, the incident began with a fight between two children, during which one bit the other. C. Diongue, accusing Mr. Kandji of not intervening to separate the children and prevent them from hurting each other, insulted her before punching her in the eye. The victim filed a complaint.
In court, the defendant contested the facts as described, however admitting to having hit her, while maintaining that she had not been injured.
For her part, the woman claimed that she had been slapped and punched in the eye by the defendant. She demanded 500,000 CFA francs in damages. The public prosecutor requested that the law be applied.
After deliberation, the court found C. Diongue guilty and sentenced him to pay a fine of 20,000 CFA francs.
