Accès à l’information : Ces secrets protégés par la loi
The draft law on access to information will soon be submitted to the National Assembly for a vote. This text defines the concept of information to which the right of access is organized. It also indicates which data cannot be communicated.
"Information protected by secrecy, namely national defence secrecy, investigation secrecy, secrecy of judicial deliberations, secrecy of judicial investigations, secrecy of lawyer-client relations, medical secrecy, secrecy in industrial and commercial matters, secrecy of government deliberations and authorities under the executive branch and any other secrecy protected by the laws or regulations in force, are excluded from the scope of this law and are not communicable under the right of access to information," the file stated.
This also includes information whose disclosure may harm foreign policy, currency and credit, public or personal safety, the conduct of legal proceedings or even the prerequisites for such proceedings, unless authorized by the competent authorities, and information whose access is governed by special legislative or regulatory texts.
