A multidimensional man of God, available, at the service of an entire country, a religious guide of reconciliation, dialogue, openness, whose dimension is symbolized by his greatness was measured, among other things, by his exceptional capacity to manage crises with lucidity, thus becoming a pillar in the management of religious and social tensions in Senegal.
Eight years after Serigne Abdoul Aziz Sy Al Amine's call to God, his memory lives on. Born in 1928 in Tivaouane, the son of Serigne Babacar Sy and Sokhna Astou Kane embodied the spiritual and moral heritage of the family of Sheikhal Seydi El Malick Sy Maodo. Long before acceding to the caliphate in 2017, following the call to God of his elder brother Serigne Cheikh Ahmed Tidiane Sy Al Makhtoum, Serigne Abdou was already a key figure in Tivaouane, as the spokesperson for the brotherhood.
