Pèlerinage de Popenguine : La Sen'Eau assure un approvisionnement en eau satisfaisante
On the occasion of the 138th edition of the Marian pilgrimage of Popenguine, Sen'Eau deployed a significant technical and human system to guarantee the water supply for the pilgrims.
According to Mansour Khouma, Sen'Eau's territorial director for the Mbour-Petite Côte area, nearly 50 agents have been mobilized in the field for several weeks to ensure the maintenance of infrastructure and the proper functioning of the distribution network.
The company states that it has 100% met the expectations of the organizing committee, including the reactivation of 55 water points at the sanctuary and the walkers' village, as well as the commissioning of 286 spillways distributed across the pilgrimage site.
In addition, 17 water tanks have been deployed in high-traffic areas and some outlying neighborhoods to bolster the water supply. Despite some pressure drops observed at certain times of day, Sen'Eau states that it anticipated these difficulties through network extension work covering nearly two kilometers and the installation of approximately one hundred social connections.
"We have also made available to the organizing committee a system of 17 water tanks which are deployed in high-traffic areas and in some outlying neighborhoods. At certain times of the day, there may be pressure drops, perhaps water shortages. So far, no major problems related to the water supply have been reported. The teams continue to be mobilized on the ground to ensure continuous monitoring of the supply to ensure water availability, in quantity and quality, commensurate with the event," assured Mr. Khouma.
