Épidémies : la FVR inquiète, le Mpox sous contrôle
The Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene provided a new update on the country's health situation this Saturday. Two diseases are of particular concern: Rift Valley Fever (RVF) and Mpox, formerly known as monkeypox.
Rift Valley Fever: 9 new cases and 2 deaths
Rift Valley Fever continues to spread. As of October 24, 9 new positive cases and 2 deaths have been recorded, bringing the national total to 311 confirmed cases, 28 deaths, and 229 recoveries since the start of the epidemic. The Saint-Louis region remains the most affected with 258 cases, concentrated in particular in the Richard-Toll district (129 cases). The regions of Louga (19 cases), Matam (16 cases), Fatick (9 cases), and Kaolack (4 cases) are also affected, while Dakar, Thiès, and Tambacounda each have recorded a few isolated cases.
Mpox: 7 confirmed cases, no deaths
MPOX, for the time being, remains contained to the Dakar region. Since the first case was detected on August 22, seven confirmed cases and two probable cases have been reported. The good news is that no deaths have been recorded, and eight patients have already recovered. Health authorities are continuing to monitor 30 contacts.
In response to these two outbreaks, the Ministry of Health is urging the public to adhere to preventive measures, including protection against insect bites and contact with sick animals. It is also calling for active collaboration with health workers and community outreach workers to stem the spread.

Heureusement qu'une certaine religion interdit de donner la main....d'autant si cette main vient juste de se gratter le c*l.
