Rift Valley and Mpox Fever: The Ministry of Health provides an epidemiological update as of November 17, 2025

Fièvre de la vallée du Rift et de Mpox : Le ministère de la Santé fait le point épidémiologique du 17 novembre 2025

The Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene published its update on the Rift Valley Fever (RVF) and Mpox epidemics in Senegal on November 17, 2025. As of November 16, 2025, the country had recorded four new positive cases and no new deaths. Since the start of the epidemic, Senegal has recorded a total of:

  1. 463 confirmed cases
  2. 31 deaths
  3. 416 healed

Since the first case was detected on August 22, 2025, Senegal has recorded:

  1. 9 confirmed cases
  2. 2 probable cases
  3. 0 deaths
  4. 9 healed
  5. 27 contacts monitored

The majority of cases were recorded in the Dakar region (10) and one case in the Ziguinchor region. The Ministry urges the public to strictly adhere to preventive measures, cooperate with health workers and community health workers, and report any suspected cases.
