Pavillon spécial : pourquoi «c’est un mouroir»
A member of Farba Ngom's lawyers' pool, Mr. Baboucar Cissé did not appreciate his client's time in the Special Pavilion. The mayor of Agnams was transferred there for health reasons after spending several months in Rebeuss, where he was sent following his placement in custody last February. "The Special Pavilion is a death trap for prisoners," thundered the lawyer in an interview published in L'Observateur this Thursday, the day after the indictment chamber's decision ordering the transfer of the APR leader to a hospital where he could receive care more appropriate to his health.
"There's nothing at the Special Pavilion. There's absolutely nothing," insists Mr. Cissé. "There's only an infirmary. And the infirmary is a nurse. There isn't even a doctor in the Special Pavilion. There isn't a regular doctor or a permanent doctor. The proof is that yesterday [Wednesday], Farba Ngom was transferred—probably following a fainting spell—to the Main Hospital to see a neurologist, Professor Abdoul Aziz Diop."
