Variole du singe (Mpox) : Un tout nouveau cas détecté au Sénégal !

A new confirmed case of MPOX in Senegal. This is what the Ministry of Health has just announced in a press release. The department reports that the case involves a Senegalese resident of Senegal, who has shown signs suggestive of the disease since September 11, 2025.
He was admitted to the Infectious Diseases Department of Fann Hospital on September 21, 2025, where he was hospitalized. The sample taken was confirmed positive by the laboratory on September 22, 2025, the ministry reported.
According to the same source, the epidemiological investigation has identified 20 people who were in contact with the patient. "At this stage, no link has been established between this second case and the first confirmed case of MPOX, nor with the contact persons of the first patient," the press release states.
The Ministry of Health assures that all measures are being implemented to prevent any spread. However, it urges everyone to remain calm, follow the recommendations, and contact the nearest health facility if any warning signs appear.

Un énième cas. Il y avait un ou deux cas au mois de Juillet. J'étais en Guinée au mois de Mai, il y avait des centaines de cas dans 12 districts sanitaires en Guinée. J'avais lancé une alerte car il y a trop de déplacements entre les deux pays.
