18 cartes Sim, 1115 fichiers, fausses pistes… : comment Kocc Barma «ramassait» les sextapes et faisait chanter ses victimes
By taking control of the account to which his "suppliers" sent him his victims' sextapes, the Special Cyber Division (DSC) penetrated Kocc Barma's world and exposed his extortion methods. Libération, which has been following the investigation since it began, reports that the targets suddenly received a threatening alert via WhatsApp or Telegram. According to the newspaper, the message generally read: "I found a phone and it has your 'nude' videos on it."
Then, the same source continues, the mysterious whistleblower demands money from his interlocutor, otherwise his compromising video will be sent to Kocc Barma. In reality, Libération reveals, the author of the threat was none other than Kocc Barma himself who, to cover his tracks, "had 18 SIM cards registered under various names."
This system lasted for more than ten years and primarily targeted Senegalese women. As proof, the daily newspaper reports that DSC investigators stumbled upon a file called "Seneg" (presumably for Senegal) containing 1115 compromising files on the girls involved.
Upon payment of the requested amount, Libération reports, the victim could receive the following message: "It's okay, the video has been deleted, you can check." But, the newspaper points out, if the "nude" disappeared from the controlled sites Kocc Barma, Seneporno, Babiporno, or Boydakar, it was filed in the "Paid not to publish" folder "along with names, phone numbers, and also the threatening messages that preceded the payment."
Kocc Barma is in prison. He was remanded in custody following his surprise arrest. He is being held in pretrial detention along with A. Demba, known as "Leuk Daour," whom the prosecution presents as his accomplice.
Libération now reveals that DSC investigators are targeting the "suppliers" of the main suspect. ED Seck, believed to be one of them, was arrested last Friday. Accused of sending Kocc a nude photo of his ex-girlfriend, he was formally charged and placed under judicial supervision by the presiding judge.
