Accident à Farafenni : La police sénégalaise endeuillée par la mort de l’agent Jean-Baptiste Coly
The Senegalese National Police is in mourning. In an official statement signed by Commissioner Mamadou Diouf, head of the Communication and Public Relations Division, the institution announced the passing of police officer Jean-Baptiste Coly, who served at the Golf-Sud district police station.
A member of the 45th graduating class, the police officer tragically lost his life on January 7, 2026, following a traffic accident in Farafenni, Gambia. His sudden death sparked deep sorrow within the national police force.
In these painful circumstances, the General Directorate of the National Police paid tribute to the memory of an officer described as devoted and committed to serving the nation. It extended its deepest condolences to the family of the deceased, his loved ones, and all his classmates and colleagues.
The national police force has thus lost one of its members, whose memory will remain etched in the minds of his peers.
