Arrêté par la SU de Guédiawaye : Un escroc récidiviste était sous contrôle judiciaire
The urban security unit of the Guédiawaye central police station has arrested an individual suspected of orchestrating a large-scale fraud involving the fraudulent sale of land in Sangalkam. His arrest, which took place on December 2, 2025, followed a complaint from a victim who claims to have been defrauded of a total of 5.1 million CFA francs.
The case dates back to October 23, 2025. A woman contacted the police to report breach of trust and land fraud. According to her account, the accused had offered her the purchase of two plots of land located in the sought-after Sangalkam area, at a unit price of 5 million CFA francs, totaling 10 million CFA francs for both plots.
Trusting the process, the complainant paid the full amount requested and received a receipt in return. Some time later, the individual gave her two deeds of transfer corresponding to two plots of land, each measuring 150 square meters.
It was by seeking help from an acquaintance working in the tax and land registry that the truth came to light. The examination of the documents revealed that the deeds of transfer had no administrative value and were therefore completely fraudulent.
Alerted by phone, the alleged fraudster tried to stall by asking the victim to "leave the premises and wait" while he found her two alternative properties. The complainant refused this offer, demanding instead a full refund.
During his hearing, after being informed of his right to a lawyer, the accused fully admitted to the charges against him. He requested a delay to recover the remaining sum he had pledged to pay to the complainant.
A disturbing element: the individual was already under judicial supervision for similar offenses at the time of his arrest, which suggests the existence of a repeated modus operandi and other potential victims.
The suspect has been taken into custody and the investigation is continuing to determine the exact extent of his fraudulent activities in the land sector.
