Babo Amadou Ba lance le "Smart 3FPT" : Les entreprises sénégalaises ont désormais leur vitrine de formation
The Vocational and Technical Training Funding Fund (3FPT) is taking a new step in supporting the private sector. On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, the institution officially launched its "Continuing Education Catalog," a strategic tool designed to facilitate companies' access to training programs tailored to their specific needs. This initiative is directly aligned with the transformation driven by the national strategy "Senegal 2050," which places human capital development at the heart of economic competitiveness.

Human capital in service of the Senegal 2050 vision
During the presentation of this new tool, the Director General of 3FPT, Babo Amadou Ba, reiterated the institution's core mission: to strengthen skills to support the country's economic transformation. "The Vocational and Technical Training Funding Fund's mission is to strengthen human capital in line with the Senegal 2050 vision," he stated. Since its creation in 2014, 3FPT has relied on three funding mechanisms: individual applications, businesses and professional organizations, and public institutions.

Digitalization as a performance accelerator
Modernizing procedures is at the heart of this reform. "We have taken advantage of the digitalization of our processes to facilitate access to training funding," the Director General emphasized. He cited, as an example, the record number of over 105,000 applications registered in just five days through the online portal for individual beneficiaries. With this new catalog, the institution intends to address the major obstacles identified so far, such as administrative delays, complex procedures, and the inadequacy of some programs.

A strategic shift: from demand to supply
The paradigm shift is complete for users of the fund. “Previously, the system operated on a demand-driven basis. Now, with this platform, we're moving to a supply-driven approach to training,” explained Babo Amadou Ba. In practical terms, companies can now directly access a range of modules offered by accredited providers. This catalog thus serves as a technological and educational showcase. “This catalog allows companies to access training tailored to their needs, while offering accredited providers increased visibility for their offerings,” he added.

Supporting the main driver of employment
For the management of 3FPT, the stakes are high, as the private sector remains the foundation of the national economy. "The private sector plays a central role in the economy. According to employment data, it represents more than 90% of jobs in Senegal, whether in the formal private sector or the informal sector," stated the Director General. In this context, the Smart 3FPT tool aims to guarantee complete transparency and faster processing.

In conclusion, Babo Amadou Ba reaffirmed the institution's ambition to make training a driver of growth. "Training plays a central role in the competitiveness of businesses. With this catalog, we want to offer fast, transparent solutions tailored to the needs of the private sector," he concluded. The 3FPT now plans to offer online exchange and training sessions to enable stakeholders from the various regional hubs to fully utilize this new tool.
