Bakel : Face à la dégradation, les habitants de Soréto se mobilisent pour réparer l’axe routier Soréto-Diyabougou
While waiting for the long-awaited asphalt, the people of the gold mining village of Soréto, in the commune of Sadatou (Bakel department), mobilized strongly this Sunday to repair the road themselves.
Traveling on the road linking Soréto to Diyabougou is a real ordeal, especially during the rainy season. Approximately 10 kilometers long, this road is vital to the local economy but is in a state of advanced disrepair, making every journey a major risk.
Faced with this situation, the residents launched a community operation called "My road, my life". At the call of the gold miner and president of the local youth, Issa Cissokho, they undertook to fill the crevices of this section, very popular with gold miners and traders, which had become almost impassable.
While this citizen action has temporarily eased traffic flow, residents emphasize that only a long-term solution will end this ordeal. Shopkeeper Ibrahima Sané and his colleagues are once again appealing to national authorities to pave this section of road, a project repeatedly requested but never realized.
