Contrôle à 5h du matin à Aéré Lao : La Gendarmerie intercepte 3 trafiquants avec 14 kg de drogue
The National Gendarmerie continues its offensive against drug trafficking. The Territorial Brigade of Aéré Lao struck a major blow this Sunday, January 26, 2026, at around 5 a.m., dismantling a cannabis trafficking network, Seneweb learned from Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye.
It was during a routine check that the gendarmes of Aéré Lao arrested three individuals, all of Senegalese nationality, travelling in a Peugeot 407 vehicle.
The gendarmes' vigilance paid off. Searching the vehicle, they discovered a bag of livestock feed on the front passenger seat. But inside this bag was hidden a significant quantity of drugs: fourteen packages, each containing one kilogram of cannabis, for a total of 14 kilograms.
The police seized the drugs as well as the Peugeot 407 used for transport. A Haojue motorcycle was also seized during the operation.
The three suspected traffickers have been taken into custody. The investigation continues to identify any accomplices and trace the network.
This successful operation is part of the overall plan to combat drug trafficking deployed by the National Gendarmerie throughout the country.
