Crise à la SONAGED : Le CIAAS annonce une plainte contre le Directeur général
The inter-ministerial collective of Senegalese government employees (CIAAS) has announced that it is filing a complaint against the director general of the National Integrated Waste Management Company (SONAGED), Khalifa Ababacar Sarr, for non-payment of salaries and fraudulent use of its employees.
"It was with surprise and great disappointment that we followed the unfortunate departure of SONAGED Director General Khalifa Ababacar Sarr during a broadcast on RTS. For 16 months, SONAGED's 30 employees have been demanding their salary arrears and the renewal of their contracts," declared their coordinator, Oumar Dramé.
According to Mr. Dramé, the general director considered, during this outing, that he owed nothing to the workers while a meeting was held between the national union of public and parapublic administration agents and the general management of SONAGED, and had resulted in consensual solutions.
The group says it is determined to make its voice heard by announcing a complaint against director Khalifa Ababacar Sarr. "We will begin the battle against the director of SONAGED. Moreover, a complaint will be filed with the competent courts for non-payment of salaries and fraudulent use of these agents," it declared.
According to the collective, a press conference is planned for next week to outline action plans that will be implemented to restore workers' dignity and ensure their rights are respected.
