Dakar–Saint-Louis : Déthié Fall met en garde les entreprises contre les retards de travaux
The Minister of Infrastructure, Déthié Fall, conducted a site visit on Thursday, November 13, 2025, to several sections of the Dakar–Tivaouane–Saint-Louis highway construction site. This tour notably included the Louga–Gandon and Gandon–Saint-Louis sections, two key segments of this major infrastructure project for the north of the country.
According to the minister, this visit is in line with the instructions of the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister, who want a precise assessment of the difficulties encountered and close monitoring of the progress of the work in order to accelerate its delivery.
Déthié Fall commended the progress made by some companies, which are meeting deadlines and achieving satisfactory completion rates. However, he also lamented the persistent delays experienced by other companies working on the project.
"It is inconceivable that Senegalese people, who contribute to the state budget, finance projects entrusted to companies, and that these companies do not respect their contractual commitments," he warned, denouncing shortcomings deemed unacceptable.
The minister reiterated the government's firm stance regarding strict adherence to contractual clauses. He warned that severe sanctions would be imposed on any defaulting company.
During this visit, Déthié Fall also welcomed the allocation of 7 billion CFA francs to communities affected by the highway's route. These funds are intended to finance various related improvements aimed at enhancing their living conditions.
“We are here to serve the people. When a project of this scale passes through their communities, it is our duty to support them and to promote the improvements made for their benefit,” the minister concluded.
