A shocking tragedy occurred yesterday in a hamlet in the commune of Madina Bafé, Saraya department. A woman, who had just given birth to twins – a girl and a boy – lost her life while being evacuated to the Saroudia health center.
According to health sources, the deceased suffered internal bleeding after giving birth at around 5 a.m. Living in a remote area inaccessible to ambulances, she had to be rushed to the hospital by motorbike due to a lack of adequate medical equipment. Unfortunately, she died upon arrival at the health center.
Alerted to the situation, the head doctor of the Saraya health district dispatched a vehicle to transfer the two infants to Saraya. The babies were entrusted to the departmental Bajenu Gox, Ms. Sountou Keïta, for appropriate care.
Faced with this tragedy, the president of the Saraya Departmental Council immediately took charge of the initial expenses related to the care and medical monitoring of the twins.
An urgent appeal is being made to people of good will to support Bajenu Gox in its mission. The goal is to guarantee the children decent living conditions and a dignified future, despite the tragic loss of their mother.
