Drame à Ndioum : Un talibé de 8 ans périt dans un violent incendie à Médina Nianga
A terrible tragedy occurred late Wednesday afternoon in Ndioum, in the Podor department. An 8-year-old talibé (Quranic student) lost his life in a fire that broke out around 5 p.m. in the Médina Nianga neighborhood.
According to initial reports from the scene, the flames spread rapidly, causing widespread panic in the neighborhood. Despite residents' attempts to control the fire and save the child, he unfortunately did not survive.
The fire mobilized several local residents as well as emergency services who came to assess the extent of the damage. The circumstances of the fire remain unknown at this time. An investigation is expected to determine the cause of the blaze.
This tragedy has plunged the residents of Medina Nianga into deep consternation. Visibly moved, several witnesses described a harrowing scene marked by screams and confusion at the time of the fire.
