Fass Mbao : un quadragénaire souffrant de dépression retrouvé pendu
The Medina Fass Mbao neighborhood, in the suburbs of Dakar, was the scene of a tragedy this Friday. Moussa D., 44 years old and known to suffer from mental health issues, was found hanged in the home of the neighborhood delegate, where he resided, reports L'Observateur.
According to initial witness statements gathered at the scene, it was his sister, who had gone to fetch him for Friday prayers, who made the grim discovery. Alerted by his cries, neighbors rushed over and tried to rescue the victim by cutting the rope, but Moussa had already died.
Police in Sicap-Mbao quickly arrived at the scene to conduct the usual investigations. The body was then transported to a medical facility for an autopsy. For the time being, according to the newspaper of the Groupe Futurs Médias, suicide is the leading theory, although an investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
According to relatives quoted by the same source, nothing that morning foreshadowed such an act. Moussa, despite his depression, seemed calm and had even been playing with his three-year-old nephew, whom he was holding in his arms just moments before committing the act.
