Fatick : Entre manque d’eau, chômage et électrification, la coordination départementale de Pastef tire la sonnette d’alarme
The departmental coordination of the Pastef/Fatick party discussed several issues related to the social and political situation in the department this weekend. Discussions focused on difficulties accessing electricity and drinking water, youth unemployment, and political prospects for the 2027 local elections.
According to Mbaye Sène, Pastef's head of mass electricity in the Fatick department, many villages are still not electrified, despite the efforts of Senelec and the Senegalese Rural Electrification Agency (ASER). The lack of drinking water is also a major concern for several localities.
Youth unemployment was identified as the most pressing challenge. “The crucial problem remains the lack of employment and, worse, the lack of prospects for young people,” he said. According to him, sustainable solutions are needed to reverse this trend.
On the political front, the meeting provided an opportunity to take stock of preparations for the upcoming local elections. Currently, Mbaye Sène emphasized, the department's 17 municipalities and the departmental council are led by the opposition. A situation that local officials consider an obstacle to the implementation of effective policies that serve the population.
In this perspective, the coordination called on its activists to increase mobilization in order to "reconquer the town halls" and strengthen the local roots of their political party, in line with Vision Senegal 2050.

Ils n'ont ni la compétence ni l'expérience. La caisse noire du premier ministre 8 milliards et celle du président 11 milliards par an suffisent pour électrifier et régler le problème d'eau à Fatick. Ils avaient promis de supprimer les caisses noires haraam, au contraire ils les ont augmentées. Vous comptez sur ces gens là pour développer votre région ?
Continuez à rêver, ils ne feront rien à Fatick d'ici 2029. Ils sont en train de s'enrichir et d'accuser leurs prédécesseurs. Ils ont tous des grosses joues et de gros ventres maintenant et se tapent des deuxièmes et troisièmes femmes. C'est le seul changement qu'ils ont fait.
