Fatick : Une étude monographique pour renforcer la compétitivité du secteur privé
A monographic study on the private sector was carried out in the Fatick region in order to identify the economic potential and constraints to the development of local businesses.
“We came to share the data with private sector actors in the region in order to gather their observations to consolidate the document,” explained Mame Mor Sène, consultant at the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Cooperation, during the workshop to present the report of the monographic study of the Central territory hub.
According to him, several promising sectors have been identified in the region, including agriculture, tourism, peanuts and salt, which are considered priority sectors in this study.
"Once the mapping is completed, we will be able to identify and support the potential in order to develop a high-performing local economy," he added.
During the discussions, participants advocated for better support for the cashew and horticultural sectors.
The monographic study also highlighted several difficulties faced by the private sector, including land salinization and the effects of climate change.
For his part, Governor Ngoné Cissé indicated that "constraints are highlighted in the monographic study on social needs, living conditions and development. These will need to be addressed in order to build a stronger economy."
