Fatick : Une femme retrouvée morte pendue
On Monday, October 6, 2025, at around 6 p.m., the Diakhao community brigade was alerted by the village chief of Poukham Tock, located in the commune of Mbellacadiao, Ndiob district, Fatick department, following the discovery of a lifeless female body found hanging from a rope in a mango garden at the entrance to the village. According to initial reports gathered on the spot, the victim had been seen alone, around 3 p.m., sitting near the garden. Later, around 6 p.m., a resident named Gonar Ndior, returning from a trip, noticed a rope hanging from a mango tree. As he approached, he discovered the body of a woman hanging. Panicked, he immediately alerted the village chief, who, after checking, informed the brigade.
The victim was not formally identified at the time. Photographs were taken and shared with surrounding village chiefs to facilitate his identification. Finally, sharing them on social media led to his identification. No signs of a struggle or apparent injuries were found on the body. In the immediate vicinity, investigators found a pair of shoes and a plastic bag containing a scarf and a pair of glasses. These elements suggest that the victim may have hidden the rope in the bag before committing the act.
Elements of the Diakhao local brigade went to the scene to make the usual observations. A requisition to qualified person No. 633/2 dated October 6, 2025 was sent to the head physician of the Adja Marème Faye Sall regional hospital in Fatick. The lifeless body was evacuated by the firefighters to the said hospital structure. An investigation has been opened, under report number No. 255 dated October 6, 2025, to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
