Grand-Yoff : Affrontements nocturnes entre supporters avant une finale des navétanes, 9 interpellations
Clashes broke out between supporters of two ASCs in Grand-Yoff on the night of October 6-7, 2025, on the sidelines of the Navétanes final scheduled for October 11. Police had to use tear gas to restore order.
Around midnight, the Grand-Yoff district police station was alerted to violent clashes between supporters of the ASC "Darou" and "Dollé" on the PAMECAS road, towards the Idrissa Pouye general hospital.
These tensions come just days before the Navétanes final, scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the Grand-Yoff municipal stadium.
Argument over banner installation escalates
According to initial reports, supporters of both teams were discussing the placement of banners intended to raise the profile of their respective ASCs in the neighborhood. However, other groups of supporters, belonging to teams eliminated from the competition, opposed this action, believing they had no right to monopolize public space.
This disagreement, which initially seemed trivial, quickly degenerated into violent clashes between different groups of young supporters.
Alerted, officers from the Grand-Yoff district police station immediately rushed to the scene for an emergency response. Given the scale of the clashes and the determination of the belligerents, the police were forced to use tear gas to disperse the groups and restore public order in the affected neighborhoods.
The operation resulted in the arrest of nine individuals involved in the clashes.
Beyond the physical violence, these clashes also caused material damage. Five victims reported seeing damage to their vehicles parked in the alleys: broken windshields and torn-off rearview mirrors.
The nine accused were taken into custody for disturbing public order, violence and assault, as well as damage to private property, according to Seneweb sources. The public prosecutor's office has been notified of the incident and an investigation has been opened to identify other possible perpetrators.

Les navetanes, en plus des violences parfois mortelles, ont un terrible impact sur la scolarité: beaucoup d’élèves ou étudiants restent dans leurs localités d’origine au lieu de rejoindre à temps leurs localités d’éducation.
Il faut interdire les navetanes pendant quelques années le temps que les supporters réfléchisses........
