Grand-Yoff : Un policier blessé lors de l'arrestation de deux dealers
This Monday, September 15, 2025, at around 12 p.m., elements of the research brigade of the Grand-Yoff district police station arrested two individuals for possession, offer and transfer of Indian hemp, in the Arafat neighborhood. They respond to the names of O. Dia, born in 1992, claiming to be a fisherman living in the APIX estate, and M. Kabi, born in 1998, a mason living in the Grand-Yoff HLM.
The operation followed a police raid on the neighborhood where they surprised a group of three youths. Two of them were arrested with nine cones of Indian hemp, while the third managed to escape.
During the intervention, police officer IK was seriously injured while trying to restrain Mr. Kabi, who was attempting to climb a wall to escape. His right forearm was pierced by an iron bar from the wall's formwork, causing a deep wound. The officer was immediately evacuated to the Idrissa Pouye General Hospital in Grand-Yoff for treatment.
During their interrogation, O. Dia admitted to having purchased a cone of Indian hemp from his accomplice Mr. Kabi, on which the eight other cones of drugs were found, according to Seneweb sources. The two suspects were taken into custody for the charges against them. The prosecutor's office was notified and an investigation was opened.
This operation once again illustrates the police's determination to combat drug trafficking.
