Grève à l’ARP : Le SAMES et le SUTSAS annoncent trois jours d’arrêt de travail du 4 au 6 février

The social climate is tense at the Senegalese Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (ARP). The Joint Struggle Alliance, comprising the SAMES section and the SUTSAS sub-section, has announced the immediate resumption of the strike for a period of three days, from Wednesday 4th to Friday 6th February 2026.

In a public statement, union representatives paint a stark picture of the social situation within the institution. They believe that, despite "patience, a sense of responsibility, and repeated attempts to open a genuine social dialogue," management has opted for "absolute silence," which workers interpret as a refusal to listen to and address their demands.

According to the Joint Struggles, this stance by the General Directorate of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People (ARP) has contributed to a gradual deterioration of the social climate, by prioritizing, in their words, "authoritarianism over consultation and fair negotiation." The unions believe that this lack of dialogue now places the entire responsibility for the situation on the administration.

Faced with this impasse, the leadership of the Joint Struggle Alliance states that it unanimously decided to relaunch the strike movement, in accordance with the mandate received from its members. This strike, they explain, reflects the workers' refusal to continue operating under conditions they deem deteriorating.

The unions also remain firm in their determination to continue the mobilization. They reiterate that the right to strike is a fundamental right and declare that no pressure, threat, or attempt to divide them will dissuade them from carrying out their action.

In their message, union leaders warn that any continued silence from management could lead to an escalation of the movement. They therefore call on employees to mobilize massively, to remain disciplined in adhering to the directives, and to be vigilant against "division tactics."

Through this three-day strike, SAMES and SUTSAS intend to send a strong signal to management: the workers demand, above all, respect for their rights and the opening of a genuine framework for social dialogue.
