Interpellation de militants de l’ARC : Le parti dénonce une « dérive autoritaire »
In a press release published today, the Political Bureau of the Alternative for Citizen Succession (ARC) denounces the "brutal and unjustified" arrest of nine of its activists during a demonstration organized in front of the National Assembly.
According to the ARC, its activists, who committed "no other crime than standing up against the ongoing wrongdoing," referring to the proposed constitutional revision currently under debate, were arrested.
The Political Bureau also condemns this "authoritarian drift" which aims to silence the youth and stifle any dissenting voice. "Peaceful protest is not a crime, it is a sacred right."
The party also demands the immediate and unconditional release of all the arrested young people, while reaffirming its commitment to defending the Constitution and democracy. "Intimidation will not prevail. The fight to safeguard our fundamental law and for a genuine democracy continues," the statement concludes.
