Jaxaay : un gang de 6 voleurs démantelé après l'agression nocturne d'une femme
The Jaxaay district police station dismantled a gang of delinquents on the night of Tuesday 15 to Wednesday 16 October 2025. Six individuals, aged 16 to 20, were arrested and taken into custody for criminal conspiracy and multiple thefts committed in a group.
A snatch theft turns into a nightmare
It all began around 1 a.m. when security guards working at Jaxaay Mbarmi arrested a young man who had just snatched a woman's cell phone. The suspect, identified as F. Thiam, born May 4, 2009 in Yeumbeul, a student living at Jaxaay U20, was immediately taken to the police station.
The victim screamed for help, prompting local residents to chase the attackers. While F. Thiam was caught and subdued, his accomplices managed to escape with the stolen phone, according to Seneweb sources.
Briefly questioned at the police station, the suspect admitted the facts and said he knew the addresses of his accomplices. This vital information allowed investigators to strike quickly and hard.
An investigation was immediately opened. The search brigade then arrested five other suspects:
They are B.Diaw, born on September 14, 2008 in Pikine, apprentice driver, A.Camara, born in 2005 in Guédiawaye, sheet metal worker, residing in Jaxaay 2, B. Thiam, born in 2007 in Grand Yoff, motorcycle mechanic, residing in Jaxaay 12, O.Diao, born in 2006 in Vélingara, Koranic student, residing in Kounoune and V.Mané, alias Atupa, born on December 19, 2008 in Pikine, student in 3rd grade, residing in Jaxaay.
A series of thefts solved
The six suspects were taken into custody for criminal conspiracy and multiple violent robberies committed at night. Investigations revealed that they were involved in several recent robberies in the Jaxaay area.
Their misdeeds included the theft of a bag containing more than 250,000 CFA francs, as well as several cell phones and other valuables.
The Public Prosecutor has been informed of the case.
