Journées Climat et Développement à Diamniadio : un nouveau cap pour la gouvernance environnementale
Senegal hosted the first Climate and Development Days in Diamniadio on October 27 and 28, 2025, organized by the Ministry of the Environment and Ecological Transition with the support of the World Bank. According to Minister Abdourahmane Diouf, the event marks a new stage in the management of environmental issues by integrating climate responsibility into public action.
This meeting brought together all government ministries, the private sector, and civil society to develop an integrated approach linking economic development and environmental protection. Discussions focused on financing the fight against climate change, implementing sustainable projects, and promoting practices that respect natural resources.
The minister also stressed the importance of civic education and collective participation, emphasizing that environmental responsibility rests as much on institutions as on citizens.
The event reflects Senegal's desire to become an African model of climate leadership and to strengthen national cohesion around sustainable development goals.
