Kataba 1: The CLD is actively preparing for the Gamou of Dar Salam Chérif

Kataba 1 is already pulsating with the rhythm of the Gamou of Dar Salam Chérif. Sub-prefect Amadou Ka convened administrative, traditional, and religious authorities for a Local Development Committee meeting focused on urgency and efficiency. The objective: to anticipate every detail so that this major spiritual event unfolds without a hitch.

The religious community, through its spokesperson, outlined its pressing needs: health, hygiene, sanitation, and coordination with state services. They also highlighted the efforts of Mayor Alassane Diatta, who has launched numerous initiatives to support the religious community.

The mayor was quick to highlight the projects already underway: filling in the road to improve access for pilgrims, allocating one million CFA francs, subsidizing three tons of food, constructing a slaughterhouse, and improving infrastructure. These concrete actions demonstrate a political will to meet the community's needs.

The defense and security forces, hygiene, health and technical services have confirmed their full availability to secure and support the event.

Sub-prefect Amadou Ka, praising this mobilization, urged state services to maintain the same intensity until the end of Gamou. He emphasized the importance of regularizing religious associations by obtaining official registration certificates, before asking the religious leader to pray for a favorable rainy season.
