Koumpentoum : Altercation sanglante entre deux cultivateurs pour une rancune
The village of Saré Fitobé, in the Koumpentoum department, was the scene of a violent altercation on Sunday, November 2nd. Two 24-year-old farmers, Ousmane Ka and Bacary Sow, were involved in a fight with knives and blunt weapons, stemming from a pre-existing animosity.
The incident began when Bacary Sow was asked by Mamadou Ka (Ousmane's older brother) to bring his cart to his house. Upon arriving, Bacary Sow found Ousmane Ka in the yard. Ousmane Ka, who were not on good terms with him, immediately asked Bacary Sow to leave. The two men quickly came to blows.
Bacary Sow used a knife to strike Ousmane Ka violently on the head. In response, Ousmane Ka grabbed an axe lying nearby to retaliate. The confrontation only ended thanks to the intervention of neighbors.
Both protagonists were injured. Bacary Sow received a seven-day sick leave certificate. Ousmane Ka received a five-day sick leave certificate.
Alerted, the Koumpentoum territorial brigade arrested the two suspects, Bacary Sow and Ousmane Ka, on November 6th around 1 p.m. They are being prosecuted for mutual assault and battery.
They will be brought before the prosecutor at the Tambacounda High Court at the end of their legal period of police custody.
