KOUMPENTOUM : Un ouvrier vole un téléphone portable et déclare l'avoir acheté à Kaolack
The elements of the gendarmerie brigade of Koumpentoum arrested on November 13th the named brahima SOW aged 42, worker residing in Koussanar for the theft of a mobile phone, committed at night to the detriment of Abdourahmane Ndiaye.
The events date back to the night of November 12-13, 2025, when Abdourahmane Ndiaye woke up to comfort his crying son, who was agitated by the heatwave affecting the area. It was then that he noticed the mysterious disappearance of his cell phone. After searching the room thoroughly, he woke his wife to ask her where the phone was. She replied that it was plugged into the electrical outlet. Finding nothing, he left the room to continue his search before being informed by his neighbor that a stranger had been chased away a few moments earlier. The victim decided to pursue this individual and encountered a member of the patrol before alerting them to the situation. During this operation, the patrol intercepted a suspicious-looking individual. A search of him revealed a cell phone concealed in his pockets. When asked to unlock the device, the accused was unable to do so.
When questioned about the ownership and origin of the phone, Ibrahima Sow stated that he bought it in Kaolack from a stranger.
Upon being seized, Abdourahmane Ndiaye declared that the photo on the device's screen was of his wife. He then unlocked the device without any difficulty.
This was enough for the suspect to be arrested by the Koumpentoum gendarmerie and then taken into custody. He will be brought before a judge at the end of his legal custody period.
