Le FDR fustige l’inaction de l’État face aux inondations
Meeting on August 20, 2025, the conference of leaders of the Front for the Defense of Democracy and the Republic (FDR) sounded the alarm on the worrying social situation of many Senegalese families, hard hit by the floods.
The recent rains have caused significant damage across several localities in the country, resulting in loss of life, displacement of populations, and destruction of property. In light of this dramatic situation, the FDR expressed its solidarity with the victims and offered its condolences to the bereaved families.
The movement accuses the government of making a series of announcements without concrete results on the ground. "Despite the billions promised for flood control, people feel abandoned," laments the FDR, which calls for sustainable structural measures beyond simple citizen management to demand stronger and more consistent accountability from the state in the face of these recurring disasters.
