Lycée Abdoulaye Sadji de Rufisque : 279 poches de sang collectées lors d’une journée de don
Abdoulaye Sadji High School in Rufisque hosted a blood drive organized by the Abdoulaye Sadji High School Alumni Association, Generation 80 (LASG80). Held in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS), the Rufisque health district, and the school administration, this inaugural event resulted in the collection of 279 units of blood in a single day, a remarkable achievement.
The official ceremony was presided over by Dr. Abdourahmane Diouf, Minister of the Environment and Ecological Transition, himself an alumnus of the school. In his address, he commended the civic engagement of the organizers and donors, emphasizing that blood donation is an essential act of solidarity for saving lives. The Minister expressed his honor at returning to his former high school and witnessing the active involvement of alumni in serving the community.
The principal of the high school, Karamokho Diop, also congratulated LASG80 and its partners, while inviting the population to become more involved in solidarity initiatives of this type, which are essential to strengthening the health system.
For his part, the president of LASG80, Idrissa Ba, expressed his delight at the success of this first edition. He thanked the school administration, the academics, the health authorities, the women's committee, and all the volunteers who contributed to the event's success. He also acknowledged the willingness of Minister Abdourahmane Diouf to preside over the ceremony.
