Mandina Mancagne : Khadija (7 ans), troisième victime du drame familial, succombe après quatre jours de coma
L'Observateur announced the sad news in its Saturday, August 30, edition. After four days in a coma, seven-year-old Khadija Kénon died at the Ziguinchor Peace Hospital. Her mother, Zeynabou Bilal, originally from Mali, has not left her bedside since she was admitted to intensive care.
A second-grade student, Khadija became the third victim of the tragedy that occurred on August 24, when her father, Prosper Kénon, set himself on fire with his two children. Her brother Abdou Aziz, 2 years old, died instantly, as did their father.
Khadija was buried Friday at the Kantène cemetery, next to her father. Her younger brother's body is still in the hospital morgue, but "should be returned to his parents in the coming hours," according to sources quoted by the Groupe Futur Médias daily.
