Mboro : un agriculteur attaqué à la machette par des bergers
The dispute nearly turned tragic in Mboro, in the Tivaouane department. At the end of August, farmer J. Tine, who wanted to drive a herd of cattle from his field, was brutally attacked by two young shepherds, A. Kâ (21 years old) and his younger brother, reports L'Observateur.
According to the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group, things escalated when the victim insisted that the animals be removed: the two shepherds attacked him with machetes, inflicting serious injuries on his arm and elbow, before fleeing.
Rescued, the farmer received 30 days of Temporary Incapacity for Work (ITT) and filed a complaint.
Quickly arrested by the police, the Kâ brothers attempted to defend themselves by claiming that the farmer had previously attacked them. But the Thiès prosecutor's office charged them with assault and battery: A. Kâ was placed in Thiès prison, and his younger brother in juvenile prison.
