Migration irrégulière : 153 migrants secourus au large de Dakar par la marine nationale

The Senegalese Navy conducted a rescue operation at sea on Monday, May 4, 2026, saving 153 migrants attempting to reach Europe irregularly. The pirogue carrying these migrants was intercepted approximately 60 km off the coast of Dakar. The swift intervention of the naval forces prevented a tragedy at sea.

The rescued individuals were taken to the Admiral Faye Gassama naval base where they were cared for before being handed over to the relevant services for identification and follow-up procedures.
