Mort de Cheikh Touré au Ghana : La dépouille attendue à Dakar ce samedi
Young Cheikh Touré died in Ghana under tragic circumstances. His parents and loved ones, who saw him leave for Ghana full of life, will sadly receive his body today. The deceased goalkeeper's body is expected in Dakar this Saturday. The burial is scheduled for Sunday in Touba, according to RFM radio.
On October 18, the Ministry of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad stated that the initial investigations by consular services "indicate that Cheikh Touré, a young Senegalese footballer, was allegedly the victim of a fraud and extortion network."
In a statement released on October 20th, Ghanaian police explained that it was an individual named Issa, claiming to be the deceased's brother, who had taken Cheikh Touré to Manhyia Hospital. Young Cheikh Touré was suffering from several abdominal injuries.
The man claimed the victim had been involved in an accident. He then took the body to the Ebenezer morgue in Tafo, Kumasi. The Senegalese national was subsequently pronounced dead upon arrival by hospital authorities.
"We want to assure the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted to solve this case and that the perpetrators will be brought to justice," the police said.
