Ndiaganiao : Un malade mental retrouvé mort dans sa chambre .
The residents of the village of Ndiarao, located 9km from the town of Ndiaganiao, are saddened by the sudden death of 30-year-old farmer Mohamed Ndione. He was found dead in his room, lying on his bed, without any injuries on his body.
Having been informed, the Ndiaganiao gendarmerie went to the scene of the tragedy to conduct a standard investigation. Mohamed Ndione's body was taken to the morgue at Grand Mbour Hospital by ambulance from the Ndiarao station.
According to a family source, the victim had been suffering from mental health issues for several years. Mohamed Ndione had even fatally stabbed his 69-year-old grandmother, Hette Dione.
Indeed, on the morning of Wednesday, July 30, 2024, around 9 a.m., Mohamed Dione took advantage of the absence of other family members to enter his grandmother's room, before delivering a fatal knife blow to her throat.
Alerted by the victim's cries, Mamadou Sene, the suspect's uncle, rushed to the scene.
He had discovered Hette Dione lying in a pool of blood, while Mohamed was trying to leave the room, a bloody knife in his hand.
The suspected murderer had been arrested and taken to the Thiaroye psychiatric hospital.
After his hospital stay, Mohamed Ndione returned to his family home, but since then, he has been undergoing medical treatment.
