Ousmane Sonko reçu par le Khalife de Médina Baye en prélude au Maouloud

At the head of a strong government delegation, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko was received this Saturday, August 30, 2025 in Medina Baye by the General Caliph of Fayda Tidjanya, Sheikh Mouhamadoul Mahi Ibrahima Niass. This courtesy visit is part of the preparations for Maouloud, a major religious celebration commemorating the birth of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).

Each year, the religious city of Medina Baye becomes a focal point for thousands of worshippers from Senegal, Africa, and the rest of the world. Beyond its spiritual dimension, this event also represents a powerful opportunity for encounters and communion between the Muslim community and the country's authorities.

The presence of the head of government in Medina Baye thus reflects the State's desire to reaffirm its attachment to religious brotherhoods and to strengthen the historical links between the Republic and the Fayda Tidjanya.
