Podor : Déthié Fall salue les réalisations du PRDC-VFS dans la vallée du fleuve Sénégal
While touring the department of Podor, the Minister of Infrastructure, Déthié Fall, praised the work carried out by the Resilience and Community Development Project of the Senegal River Valley (PRDC-VFS).
Accompanied by several state officials, including the Director General of Ageroute and the Director General of Community Infrastructure and Rural Development, as well as technical and financial partners, including the World Bank which financed the project, the minister noted the progress of community infrastructure in the valley.
According to him, this mission allows the authorities to better measure the expectations of the population and to provide appropriate responses as quickly as possible.
“The PRDC has done remarkable work with the PUMA,” the minister stated, praising the numerous infrastructure projects already completed in the program's intervention areas. The delegation visited sports, health, school, water, and livestock facilities, including a health post designed to prevent people from having to cross the border to access healthcare.
The Minister of Infrastructure emphasized the strategic importance of these basic social investments for the inhabitants of the Senegal River Valley. "The population will now be able to benefit locally from quality healthcare with trained staff and appropriate logistics," he stated.
Déthié Fall also noted that the program covers a large part of the valley as far as Bakel, with 276 infrastructure projects already completed in this phase. A second generation of the program plans for the construction of 600 new infrastructure projects across the region.
According to the minister, these achievements are in line with the directives of the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister aimed at strengthening territorial equity and bringing basic social services closer to the people. "Every Senegalese citizen must feel the State's investment alongside them," he stated.
The Minister of Infrastructure concluded by congratulating the program's partners, particularly the World Bank, for its support in implementing the PRDC-VFS. He urged the PUMA and PRDC teams to accelerate their work to meet the July 31st deadline.
“I am particularly following this project, like all other projects across the country, to ensure that deadlines are met and that the population can quickly have access to these highly strategic infrastructures,” concluded Déthié Fall.
