Pour un match Navétane : Une commerçante ébouillante sa voisine à cause d'un match Navetane

Shopkeeper Fatou Cissé, 39, of Ngor, faces two years in prison, including one month in prison, for assault and battery against Astou Sarr Ndoye. She scalded her following clashes after a Navétane match in Ngor. The defendant was tried this Thursday at the Dakar District Court. Her fate will be determined on October 30, 2025.

On the facts…

According to the civil party, Astou Sarr Ndoye, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, after the semi-final between Arafat and Barack, which the latter team won, clashes broke out between supporters in the village of Ngor. It was under these circumstances that an altercation occurred between Fatou Cissé and her daughter Khar Mané.

Fatou, seeking revenge, threatened to beat Khar and two of her friends. Their dispute ended in a fight. Later, around 9 p.m., Khar, who had gone out to get her phone repaired, was attacked by Aïta Gaye and Anna Cissé, two of Fatou's friends. Alerted by the screams, Astou Sarr Ndoye left her home and discovered her daughter being manhandled.

While driving her daughter home, she came face to face with Fatou Cissé. Another fight broke out before local residents separated them.

The next morning, around 7 a.m., as Astou Sarr Ndoye was returning from work, she encountered Fatou Cissé again in front of Anna Cissé's shop. Fatou then doused her with a teapot filled with hot water, before knocking her down and beating her. A passerby intervened to separate them. The victim suffered burns to her left arm and was temporarily unable to work for seven days. She filed a complaint with the Ngor gendarmerie.

Arrested, Fatou Cissé admitted to scalding her neighbor with coffee. In court, she expressed regret and apologized to the civil party, which is seeking 200,000 CFA francs in damages. The defense, for its part, requested leniency from the court.
