Préparation du Thiant du 17 avril : l’État promet « zéro faille » dans l’organisation

The sub-prefect of the Sindia district, Elhadj Djiby Bocoum, chaired a Local Development Committee (CLD) meeting dedicated to the preparation of the Thiant des Thiantacones, scheduled for April 17, 2026. During the meeting, he instructed all state services to fully mobilize to ensure the smooth running of the event.

In his address, the administrative authority reiterated that the primary mission of the State is to guarantee the safety of people and their property. This meeting, whose objective is to anticipate all organizational constraints, is part of this framework.

Therefore, particular attention was paid to essential aspects such as ensuring a continuous electricity supply to avoid any load shedding or unexpected outages, water supply, the availability of medications, and the mobilization of healthcare workers. All technical services were called upon to contribute to guarantee optimal organization and the complete success of the event.

The sub-prefect sought to reassure everyone, emphasizing that all commitments made would be honored, as with previous editions and other events organized in the district. He stressed the need to mobilize all resources to achieve this goal, while reaffirming the continued support of state services alongside the organizing committee.

"We will do everything we can to ensure there are no flaws, even though no human work is ever perfect," he said.

For his part, Daouda Thiam, a disciple of Sokhna Aïda Saliou Thioune and a member of the organizing committee, welcomed the holding of this Local Development Committee (CLD) and the commitments made by the administrative authorities and technical services. He particularly praised the presence of key organizations such as Senelec, Sonatel, and Sonaged, whose support he deemed essential for the event's success.

“We left this meeting satisfied. Our needs were expressed and the services reassured us about their support,” he said.
