Rufisque-Est : La police démantèle un trafic de chanvre indien

On November 7, 2025, the elements of the research brigade of the Rufisque-Est district police station proceeded to arrest Mr. Diop, aged 24, for offering and transferring Indian hemp.

According to Seneweb sources, this arrest follows the exploitation of information transmitted by a third party, who reported the existence of a vast Indian hemp trafficking network in the Arafat district, near the terminus of the Tata 63 line. The investigation revealed that this network was run by a man named M. Diop.

Based on this information, police officers went to the location where they found the suspect on a motorcycle. After checking his identity and conducting a pat-down, officers discovered a yellow bag containing approximately 750 grams of marijuana in his blue backpack. A search of the surrounding area failed to uncover any other prohibited substances. The suspect was then taken to the police station for questioning.

When asked about the origin of the drugs, Mr. Diop stated that they had been given to him by a certain AD, a driver residing in Darou Rahmane (Rufisque), without providing further details.

Following his hearing, Mr. Diop was taken into custody for offering and selling cannabis. The investigation is ongoing to identify any accomplices.
