Rufisque : il séquestre et viole sa tante de 60 ans
A. Seck, a 34-year-old merchant, appeared before the Dakar criminal court on Tuesday on charges of rape, kidnapping, and threats. He is accused of having, in 2022 in Rufisque, kidnapped and then raped his paternal aunt, Nd. Seck, then 60 years old, at knifepoint.
The events date back to May 31, 2022, in Rufisque, as reported by Les Échos, which attended the hearing. According to the victim's complaint, her nephew, intoxicated, threatened her with a blue-handled knife to force her to follow him to his room. There, he allegedly held her captive before forcing her to perform extremely violent sexual acts, the newspaper reports.
The same source specifies that the prosecution's case rests on several pieces of evidence deemed damning, including a medical certificate detailing recent sexual intercourse as well as injuries and scratches observed on the woman in her sixties. The blue-handled knife described by the victim was also found in the accused's room, who was subsequently identified thanks to precise details provided by the complainant.
In court, the accused denied the charges, claiming that other people had a key to his room. This defense failed to convince the prosecution. Emphasizing the family relationship, the prosecutor condemned the "ignominy" and the "extreme gravity" of the acts. He requested a 15-year prison sentence.
Even the defense, led by Mr. Sylva, admitted his client's guilt in light of the evidence, while arguing for a more lenient sentence of 10 years. The verdict is expected on February 10, concludes Les Échos.
