Saly Expo : Le gouvernement valorise l’économie régionale et les artisans
Following the official launch of Saly Expo last Thursday, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Dr. Serigne Guèye Diop, visited the expo this Friday. He welcomed the first edition of the Saly fair organized by the International Center for Foreign Trade of Senegal (CICES) with the support of SAPCO and the city hall.
"I would like to congratulate CICES for this innovative initiative, the mayor of Saly for his commitment and SAPCO for its excellent work," said the minister.
According to him, the concept is clear: to bring economic and industrial activity closer to the regions by moving fairs which, for 50 years, have taken place only in Dakar.
This fair, which brings together artisans, traders and local producers, highlights the know-how and creativity of the Mbour department and beyond.
"What I like is that it's not just Saly. I saw talent from all over the region and even from Thiès," added Serigne Guèye Diop, who hopes the event will become an annual and institutionalized event.
The minister also emphasized the importance of creating added value in trade. "The government will support artisans and traders to help them develop. We also encourage the mobility of artisans between regions and internationally," he emphasized, recalling the recent experience where one hundred Senegalese artisans exhibited in Japan.
