Scandale sexuel à Sindia : Le calvaire de 10 jeunes femmes face à des maîtres-chanteurs sans scrupules
The Mbour High Court was the scene last Tuesday of a chilling trial highlighting the dangers of cybercrime. Two men, C. Guèye, a shopkeeper, and M. Thiandoum, a mechanic, appeared in court for harassing and extorting ten young women from the town of Sindia for nearly a year.
According to the investigation, the defendants used a particularly destructive method: they stole personal photos of their victims from TikTok and transformed them, through editing, into pornographic content. These images were then massively disseminated on the web.
The social impact has been devastating. Dragged through the mud, many of these young women have seen their reputations ruined, some even forced to close their businesses or live in seclusion to escape the gaze of others.
After months of silent suffering, the victims decided to break the code of silence by filing a complaint. In collaboration with the gendarmerie, a trap was set for the blackmailers. C. Guèye was caught red-handed while demanding a ransom to delete the compromising videos. Cornered, he finally denounced his accomplice, M. Thiandoum.
During the hearing, attitudes diverged: while Mr. Thiandoum chose to confess, C. Guèye attempted to deny the obvious. The prosecutor, denouncing organized extortion and exceptionally violent harassment, requested two years of imprisonment for both defendants.
The fate of the two men will be sealed on February 3, the date of the verdict.
