Sédhiou : Arrêté pour le viol d'une mineure de 16 ans, M. Camara évoque un acte « consenti »
The central police station in Sédhiou arrested Mr. Camara, a 23-year-old motorcycle taxi driver, for rape, pedophilia and abduction of a minor without fraud or violence.
The case came to light following a complaint filed by a French teacher, teaching at a local high school, acting on behalf of his 16-year-old niece, R. Barry.
According to information gathered by investigators from the victim's uncle, the young girl left her family home on Saturday, November 29, to visit her aunt, BC, who lived in Sédhiou. Once at the bus station, around 7:00 p.m., the teenager reportedly hired a motorcycle taxi driver to take her to her guardian's house. But instead of taking her to her destination, he allegedly led her to his own room, where he raped her.
When questioned by police, the victim stated that the suspect, Mr. Camara, allegedly lured her into his room on Saturday, November 29, around 8 p.m., where he raped her three times.
The young woman was subsequently taken to the Amadou Tidiane Ba Regional Hospital in Sédhiou, where a gynecologist confirmed her statements. The medical certificate issued indicated old hymenal tears, located at 3 o'clock, 1 o'clock, and 6 o'clock, thus corroborating the allegations reported by Seneweb sources.
When questioned about the accusations against him, the accused admitted to having had sexual relations with the minor. However, he attempted to justify himself by stating that he had invited her to his home and that she had consented.
