Serigne Mouhamadou Lamine Laye évoque la porté de l'Appel des layènes : « Sans la paix, il n’y a ni vie paisible ni culte »
Serigne Mouhamadou Lamine Laye, the general khalifa of the Layene order, placed peace, tolerance and the blessing of Seydina Limamou Laye at the heart of his message, when receiving in Yoff the delegation from the National Recovery Company (SNR) who came to support him for the 146th edition of the Call of Seydina Limamou Laye.
Welcoming the Director General of SNR, Mr. Babacar Ndiaye and his delegation, the Khalif first offered prayers for the success of the event and for the mission entrusted to the public company.
"May God give us the means to meet the challenges of organizing this event and may we be able to congratulate ourselves at the end," he said, before recalling that true support is recognized when it manifests itself spontaneously in decisive moments.
Returning to the spiritual significance of the Call, he emphasized that this religious gathering, now in its 146th year, would not have endured through the generations if it were not founded on truth. "Mame Limamou Laye did not launch this call for himself, but for God," he reminded everyone, stressing the values of tolerance, endurance, and clemency bequeathed by the founder of the Layene order.
The caliph then expressed his appreciation for the support of the SNR, praying that God would reward its officials "n times more" for their gesture.
According to him, it is this blessing inherited from Mame Limamou Laye that protects Senegal and preserves its stability, even in times of tension. "Islam cannot be associated with violence. It is a religion of tolerance," he insisted.
Speaking to the Director General, Serigne Mouhamadou Lamine Laye expressed his wishes for success and consistency in the mission entrusted to him, recalling that he is continuing the work of his predecessor.
He concluded with a powerful message: "If we can organize such religious events, it is because God willed that peace should reign. Without peace, there is neither peaceful life nor worship. May peace reign in Senegal and in the world."
The SNR delegation, led by Mr. Babacar Ndiaye, reaffirmed the public company's commitment to supporting the Layene community in organizing the Appeal. The Director General reiterated that the SNR plays a key role in mobilizing state resources through debt collection, serving public policies and the country's development.
